Strangest Mechanics in RDR2

Three surprising systems most players never think about — horse back-kicks, weapons acting as lightning rods, and fully dynamic mud that washes off.

Emplacement Validé

Various — anywhere with horses, storms or mud.

Notes d'enquête

- Horse Kicking: loot an unbonded horse's saddlebags without calming it and the physics trigger a back kick that can take a huge chunk of health or kill you. - Lightning Strikes: hold an equipped metal weapon pointed upward on open plains or a peak during a thunderstorm and it can act as a lightning rod, striking Arthur. - Mud and Dirt: tackle an enemy into Valentine's mud and Arthur's clothes cake with wet mud; the sun dries it to crust, and rain or a river washes it completely off.

Théorie de l'Affaire

Always calm a strange horse before looting it. In storms, holster long metal weapons unless you want a shocking surprise.

Route d'Investigation

Q: Can a horse really kill me with a kick? A: Yes — looting an uncalmed horse can trigger a lethal back kick. Q: Does mud wash off dynamically? A: Yes — rain or water cleans Arthur's clothes in real time.
