Never Help This Guy in RDR2 (The Rhodes Gunsmith)

A dark hidden encounter in Rhodes. A boy cries for help from the gunsmith's basement — but the truth behind his captivity is one of the most disturbing stories in the game, with three possible outcomes.

Emplacement Validé

Gunsmith basement, Rhodes (Lemoyne).

Notes d'enquête

1. In Rhodes, hear a boy crying for help from the gunsmith's basement window, claiming he was kidnapped. 2. Enter the gunsmith, point your weapon at the shopkeeper, and force him to open the basement. 3. Downstairs the boy is chained and dressed in a child's sailor outfit. 4. The shopkeeper explains the boy resembles his dead son, so grief drove him to kidnap and dress the boy as a replacement. 5. Choices: walk away and leave the boy; shoot the chains to free him (he flees, ignoring the grieving man); or kill the boy, which devastates the shopkeeper and permanently closes the gunsmith.

Théorie de l'Affaire

Freeing the boy is the honourable choice. Killing him permanently shuts the Rhodes gunsmith, so avoid that if you want to shop there later.

Route d'Investigation

Q: Does killing the boy affect the game? A: Yes — the Rhodes gunsmith permanently closes if you execute him. Q: How do I open the basement? A: Threaten the shopkeeper at gunpoint to force him to unlock it.
