- Small animals like rabbits, foxes, raccoons and cats can slip beneath the train's undercarriage without being hit.
- Medium animals such as wolves and coyotes are usually struck by the wheels or chassis.
- Large animals (horses, bison, bears) are far too tall and are killed instantly on contact.
- The result depends on each animal's modeled height and hitbox versus the train's clearance.
